Watch Out Weezy, Mama Z is Coming for You
If you are a fan of Bravo’s Flipping Out like I am, I’m sure you have developed a soft spot in your stony heart for Jeff Lewis’ saucy, Nicaraguan-born housekeeper Zoila Chavez, who like all the greats is simply known as Zoila, because last names are for lesser folks. Her zingers, especially those aimed at Jeff, are legendary.
As I have recently discovered, Zoila seems to have a side hustle as a member of an underground rap group, Mama Z and the Cleaners, who are currently on their Drop the Mop Tour (not coming to a city near you).
If Weezy (a.k.a. Lil Wayne) can drop a single wearing spotted jeggings and a face only his mother could love, then Mama Z can do it wearing her brand new face and wielding a mighty broom.
There’s room enough in the rap game for everyone.
Just kidding, Fab Ones. But wouldn’t it be cool if Zoila did have her own rap group. I imagined that her first song would be one in which she sets the record straight about Jeff discovering, what he believed, was at least a week’s worth of her dirty laundry on the floor of her closet.
Well, that’s my lyrical “homage” to Zoila. I’d love to hear yours, if you have one. If you don’t, create one of your own. I’d love to hear that as well.
