You knew it was coming. Couldn’t you hear the rumbling and and feel the earth shifting on its axis? Tyra (TyTy) Banks, former model and producer of such influential and culturally critical shows (if only in her mind) as America’s Next Top Model and The Tyra Banks Show, now rules primetime television. Step aside pretenders, haters and wannabes, the weaved one is coming through. All hail to the mighty TyTy. (**kneels in utter reverence**)
Just in case you are wondering what the hell I am talking about, I will share. Forbes.com announced that our TyTy tops the list of “Prime-Time TV’s Top 20 Earning Women”:
…America ‘s Next Top Model’s Tyra Banks, who tops our list with $23 million during the year-long period, thanks to her work both in front of and behind the camera. In addition to her eponymous–and highly successful–daytime talk show, the model-turned-mogul has scored legions of fans and lofty paychecks as a producer and judge on the CW’s hit reality competition series.
Last fall, Banks also signed a multi-year deal with Warner Bros. to develop still more projects for the big and small screens. Among her upcoming ventures: Stylista, a CW reality show set in the magazine world, and a direct-to-DVD series based on the best-selling Cliqueseries of books for teens.
You have to admit, TyTy’s hustle is pretty strong. Good for her. Who are some of the others vying for her crown?
Heidi Klum (Project Runway) – At $14 million, looks like she is definitely “in”.
Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy) – The star complained about the show’s poor writing. I guess bitchassness does have a price — $13 million to be exact.
Eva Longoria Parker (Desperate Housewives) – The elfin-looking actress and media ho(g) pulled in $9 million.
